The roots for the present pottery production in Krumvir factory could be found in the opening of brick production in the mid thirties of the last century. The brick factory had successively changed several owners and was eventually pulled down in 1978. The present factory buildings were built in 1979 –1981 and was designed for pottery and stoneware production. The factory was privatized in 1993 and the present owner KERAMIKA KRUMVIR s.r.o. has made substantial reconstruction of burning kilns and created necessary provisions for manufacturing of high-quality products with or without glaze.
The factory uses its own clay and glazes. Production technology enables the following types of production : casting, wheeling and pressing. Stoneware products are burned at 1250 oC, terracotta without glaze at 1100 oC. Stoneware products are watertight, frost proof and could be used in dishwashers and microwaves. The used glazes are hygienic unobjectionable.
